Tony Giglio - Knight of the Month

Knight of the Month - Tony Giglio

The Knights of Columbus would like to recognize Tony Giglio as Knight of the Month. Tony is our most senior Knight, having served the Knights of Columbus since over 56 years.

Tony became a Knight in the city of Malden, MA, the same council 105 that our founder Fr Michael McGivney started. Malden is 10 miles north of Boston. He was drawn to the Knights because every man in the town was a Knight. He remembers after mass, all the attendees would walk 5 blocks to the Knights meeting hall where breakfast was being served. When they reached the hall, the last group of church attendees were just leaving the church.

Tony was a career politician with an attitude of giving back. That is what has kept him active in the Knights all these years. His political days started as a City Council member, and then progressed as a state representative. He met his wife Mary Ruth, originally from Nova Scotia, in Malden and they have been married 55 years, while raising 2 sons. She has always been in the retail business, which began with her father.

Retirement brought Tony to Florida through a house that his sister had in Daytona. After her death, they chose to come south to Jupiter where they now reside in Abacoa. The proximity of St Peter brough them to us and we are glad they did. Tony is always on the front lines with our council assisting where he can. He is also a member of our color guard, where duties such as respecting our fallen brothers are required and a dedicated 4th degree Knight.

Congratulations Tony, we are blessed to have you as part of our team.
