Family of the Month - The García-Negrón Family

The García-Negrón family journey to St Peter is quite interesting. Dr Jorge and his wife Keila were born and educated in Puerto Rico as physicians in the field of physical therapy. Jorge attended and graduated from the University of Puerto Rico and received his degree in medicine through the San Juan Veteran’s Administration Medical Center. He and Keila began their family of three in Puerto Rico.  That would include Daniela, Mia, and Sebastian. They also built a physical therapy practice in PR.  Their decision to move to the United States was mainly to find better education opportunities, especially for Sebastian who is diagnosed with autism.

Through Dr Jorge’s connection with the VA, they sold their practice and moved their family to Dallas, where education for Sebastian was much improved.  Unfortunately, Jorge’s work was not as fulfilling, and this began to erode the skills he had trained for and mastered. When an opportunity opened in Florida where Dr Jorge's skills would be fully utilized, they made the move which brought them to Jupiter and St Peter.

Fortunately, Sebastian's and the children’s education needs were fulfilled in Jupiter too.  The children all received their 1st Holy Communion and Confirmation at St Peter. Keila is very active with St Vincent de Paul and the children participate in choir and altar serving.

St Peter is also where Jorge was introduced to the Knights of Columbus through his work with Food for Families.  Even with his heavy workload, he is consistently volunteering his and Sebastian’s time at our Soufflé Sunday Breakfasts along with other fundraising events. Needless to say, Dr Jorge is also very helpful to those Knights experiencing a few aches and pains.

Congratulations and THANK YOU to the family of Dr Jorge García-Negrón.
