The Knights of Columbus would like to recognize the family of Agustin Delgado for Family of the Month.
At the age of 13, his parents for reasons of religious freedom and civil war, suggested to the family of 12 to leave his home country of Guatemala. For three years he and his brother survived on the streets of Mexico. They had minimal mail service and no family cell phone contact, but finally managed to find an opportunity to enter the US.
Through a relative, Agustin arrived in Jupiter and began attending mass at St Ignatius Loyola Cathedral. Upon discovering that there was a Mass in Spanish at St Peter, he became a regular parishioner at St Peter. About 8 years ago, thanks to fellow Knights, Michael McReynolds and Jose Salichs, he was invited to enter the St Peter Knights council.
Agustin’s career in landscaping began with a small company in Tequesta called Road Landscaping. In 2021, he felt it was time to begin his own business and launched DM Lawn and Tree Service.
He is married to wife Heydi, and children Eric (13), Esleyter (12) and newborn Yoel. Esleyter is an active altar server at St Peter.
When asked, Agustin says he cares for the community and supports it wherever he has a chance. He is very active with the Knights in assisting with fundraisers, working Roger Dean concessions, cooking in the kitchen for Sunday Soufflé Breakfasts, and answering to calls for help wherever it is needed. He wishes to become an usher at St Peter.
THANK YOU to Agustin and his family for being a part of our parish and the Knights. We are fortunate to have you with us!
