The O'Connor Family

It is with great pleasure that we recognize the O’Connor family for Family of the Month. David O’Connor is a 4th degree member of our council. Raised by his Irish father, Brian J (Legally blind) who very successfully worked around the world with major corporations (via IBM), and countries (US Federal Government) and German mother (Marylin) who was an RN in Jacoby NY, was no stranger to the Catholic faith. His parents were very devoted Catholic and David was very popular as a regular altar server in his early years spent in Westchester, NY.

David, because of his father’s unique positions at IBM and as a US federal employee working with countries around the world, was raised in virtually every continent. The family travels, that included Asia, Australia and Europe. He attended over 11 universities and has multiple degrees in Libera Arts and Economics. Possibly some to David’s skill in art stems from his mother’s passion to draw ( see website for example). He considers his US home in Westchester NY where he was raised in a loving Catholic family home, that included sisters Jamie (ER Doctor Assistant), Kristen (Teacher) and Edward (Colorado Deli Entrepreneur). David is proud that along with himself, they are all practicing Catholics.

His attraction to the Knights stems from a combination of altar serving, father influence and premature death of friends that drew him to serve. He began his Knight

membership in Westchester, but then followed his father’s retirement footsteps to

Tequesta. His father attended mass each morning at St Judes until his passing.

Looking for a great council to join, he decided to be a part of the St Peter Council. He is a consistent contributor for our fundraisers and has a passion to help with our Special Olympics outings. David will be assuming the role as our Life Director beginning July 1.
