The St Peter Knights of Columbus would like to recognize the family of David and Katie Correia for Family of the Month. David and Katie met via a chance meeting in Pennsylvania. Their story began with David’s golf skills and entrepreneurial spirit. As an accomplished golfer from Massachusetts, he found himself playing golf for University of Southern Mississippi and Bryant before taking a professional golf career shot on the Japan tour. Eventually his entrepreneurial spirts led him to the restaurant industry in Philadelphia where he met Katie, a person dedicated to people health as a physician’s assistant.
David’s strong faith was founded by his mother, who spent years as a nun before marriage ad motherhood. Katie on the other hand, was raised a Christian, but then through her love with David, and desire to be closer to our faith, went the RCIA route to become Catholic and follow in her husband's footsteps.
Eventually, David’s career found himself in commercial real estate and private equity which brought his family to SE Florida. They now reside in Eastpointe where Katie continues her career as a physician assistant at Jupiter Medical. They have 2 children, Emma (12) and Christian (9) attending All Saints. Emma prefers volleyball, while Christian sides with baseball. David and Katie are there to support them.
Recently David found the St Peter Knights of Columbus. He says that regardless of if its work or play, God is the Center of all their decisions. Our parish and the Knights of Columbus ministry is fortunate to have a family like the Correia's with us.
