Officers Planning Meeting
August 23, 2022
Note: Minutes of our Planning Meetings are supplied to all Officers for review and comment. They are then posted on the Council Website. Report:
The GK congratulated the council on obtaining STAR recognition for the past fraternal year.
The GK also thanked those that worked the concession stands at the MEGA mash.
The documentary on Joe McGivney has been released. It is titles “Healing Through Our Founders Intersession”.

KofC Pillars .
A roadmap for obtaining STAR Council this fraternal year was laid out. The roadmap is summarized in the GK’s “2022-2023 STAR Council Scorecard”. Some notes from the discussion are included below.

RSVP Program
We would like to support both Deacons Serge and Jude this year.
Rosary Initiative -
Silver Rose - The Silver Rose Service was well attended, and we promoted it well. It will count as an activity for this year.
Life: (Keith McKeown):
We discussed possibly collecting for an UltraSound machine during the Second half of the year. There is some some question on if one is needed in this area
Tootsie Roll Drive -
Family: (Joe McGivney)
Supreme is highlighting Food for Families activities for this this fraternal year. The council supports this activity through donations and manpower.
Brother Davisson will check on the date for the Parish Picnic

Keep Christ in Christmas -
Scheduled for 12/11/2022. Activity needs a new Chairman
Community* (Paul Davisson)
Supreme’s “Coats for Kids” program was discussed. GK would like to use kids from All Saints to help in a collection. This program requires that the Council purchase 72 coats from Supreme. There was discussion on if Supreme’s cost for the coats is competitive with discount stores like Walmart.
We are considering doing another Wheel Chair Sunday Collection. We collected ~ $7K on Wheelchair Sunday last year.
“No Brother Left Behind” - The GK asked that we continue to make efforts to contact our assigned Council Brothers.
Special Olympics -
Fellowship Breakfast -
Free Throw Competition- Brother Davisson will contact All Saints School concerning this years event.

Recruiting/Retention
We have a lot of Brothers who have not paid dues to date. Brothers are encouraged to pay on line using a credit card. There is a link on the council web page.

New Business
Brother McGivney is collecting men’s cloths for the men at “FERN House”. Collection dates will be announced.
Motions-
Brother Davisson moved, and Brother McGivney seconded a motion to donate $500 to Fr Jean’s schools in Leagone. Fr Jean is buying a bus for the school. We will also promote the school during an upcoming Sunday Fellowship Breakfast.
