Note: Minutes of our Planning Meetings are supplied to all Officers for review and comment. They are then posted on the Council Website. The minutes will not be read at the next Planning meeting unless requested by an Officer. Please direct all corrections and additions to Jim Hildebrand jrpah@comcast.net

Recorders Note:

Officers Roll Call

  • All Officers were present except for the Advocate, Warden, and 1st Year Trustee. The Deputy Grand Knight, and Chancellor positions are open.

  • Chaplain Report -

    • The meeting was opened and closed with a prayer.

  • Guests and Dignitaries

  • Grand Knight Report:

    • Correspondence:

      • No significant correspondence.

    • Report:

    • Jeff’s 500 Miles for Kids Wheelchairs

      • Donations are approaching $25,000.

      • An article covering the drive has been published in the Florida Catholic.

      • The GK will talk to Fr. D about having Jeff recognized for his efforts at a Spanish Mass (they were large contributors to the drive, plus the wheelchairs are going to Mexico), and at 9:30 AM ( to help show we have young Knights that are accomplishing things).

    • The recorder will give a short “Minutes Summary” at the beginning of each Business Meeting.

    • The GK recommended the book “The Faith and the Power’” by James Snyder. It is a well researched story of the first yers of the church after the crucifixion of Christ. The GK suggested the author would be a good speaker for an upcoming event such as a retreat.

    • Brother Davisson has volunteered to lead the Community Pillar.

    • The question of why we conduct the Fellowship Breakfast was aired. The conclusion was that it offers a chance for fellowship to the Brothers of the council as well as an opportunity for fellowship among parishioners.

    • The GK has invited a Columbiette to speak at next weeks Business Meeting.

  • Financial Secretary Report:

  • KofC Pillars .

    • Faith: (Philip Colon/Mark Ehmer):

      • Rosary Initiative - We will start on 11/14 doing only the 8 AM Sunday Mass. The Rosary needs to start ~ 7:30. We have 3 or 4 volunteers to lead the Rosary, Brother Davisson will lead the first one on the 14th.Trevor will create a sign-up sheet that can be added to the Website.

    • Life: (open)

      • St Perter’s mens retreat will be in February at the “Our Lady of Fl Spiritual Center .

      • Novena for life is in January. It was suggested that we should consider doing something to support the effort in the Meditation Garden

      • Tootsie Roll Drive -

  • Family: (Joe McGivney)

Brother McGivney is working to present a backlog of Family and Knight of the Month awards.

  • “Family of the Month” -

  • JTAA Christmas Parade -

    • The parade is Dec 12th. We are not allowed to pass out candy this year. We are looking at having two antique cars in the Parade. One is a 72” Cutlass the Brother Davisson’s son has, the other belongs to a friend of Brother Mcelhaney.

  • Community* (Paul Davisson)-

    • Fellowship Breakfast - First Breakfast is on Dec 5th to serve the 8 and 9:30 Masses. We plan to serve our traditional menus. John Placko will do the shopping for the event. Fr Wesler will have the Parish hall doors open at 6:30 for the cooking crew. Going forward, each Breakfast will be dedicated to a cause such as :Coasts for Kids”. However, no cause has been selected for the first Breakfast. The GK will reach out to Knights that are the nucleus of the Breakfast (Brothers Placko, McKay, McDonald, and Drake) to see if they can attend next weeks Business Meeting.

    • 500 Miles for Kids -

    • Free Throw Competition- Brother Davisson has submitted the request for the 2022 event to All Saints School.

    • Our Lady of Guadalupe Celebration -We typically man one of the food tables at the event. The GK will check to see if we are needed this year.

    • We currently have 139 members

    • Brother Keith McKeown is expected to transfer to the council form California in December.

    • Brother John Lictro, a snowbird, would like to participate in the council, but not transfer in.
