March 15, 2022

Note: Minutes of our Business Meetings are posted on the Council website for all members of the council for review and comment. The minutes will not be read at the next regular meeting unless requested by a member. Please direct all corrections and additions to Jim Hildebrand jrpah@comcast.net

  • Pre - Meeting.

  • Officers Roll Call

    • All Officers were present except for the Chancellor, Outside Guard, 2nd and 3rd Year Trustees.

  • Chaplain Report -

    • The meeting was opened and closed with a prayer.

    • Fr Wesler reminded us of Penance Celebrations at the church on Wed. 3/16.

  • Guests and Dignitaries

    • The Field Agent and District Deputy were present

      • The GK:

      • Thanked those that helped at the special Olympics. There were plenty of workers, hopefully this is the first of several Special Olympic events in which we can help out.

      • Asked if the Council wants to continue with the current Fellowship Breakfast format. There were no objections.

      • Brother Joe McGivney’s story will appear in the March edition of the Columbian Magazine.

      • Brother McElhaney has created a very good recruiting video. The GK will pursue Fr D’s approval in playing it before Masses the Sunday before Palm Sunday (we have a Fellowship Breakfast that Sunday).

    • Upcoming events

    • Officers Planning Meeting Report

      • Motion Passed to appropriate $100 for our share of an advertisement in the State Convention program, and $100 to help defray travel costs to the convention for the District Deputy.

  • Financial Secretary Report:

      • The audit is done.

    • Deputy Grand Knight and Director Reports:

        • We have 4 credits towards STAR council.

        • Rosary Initiative - We need more people to sign-up to recite the Rosary before the 8 AM Sunday Mass. Sign-up can be found on the website.

        • RSVP Program

          • We still plan to support the RSVP program. Father Wesler will see if there is a back-up candidate if Deacon Serge doesn’t enter the seminary .

          • Family (Joe McGivney)

        • “Family of the Month” - We are considering families that help out at Food for Families.

        • “Knight of the Month” -David O’Connor

        • Food for Families -

        • Community (Paul Davison).

          • No Brother Left Behind - We are continuing to contact Brothers. Brother Miguel Mercado was recently in an auto accident and can’t work. He has asked for prayers from the Council.

        • Fellowship Breakfast—

        • JTAA Christmas Parade -

        • Throw Competition-

    • Life (Kieth McKeown).

      • Special Olympics

        • There will probably be another Special Olympics event, possible at Dwyer HS, in April. Special Olympic Games will be held in Orlando in June.

  • Fund Raising -

    • Roger Dean Stadium -

      • The player/owner labor dispute is resolved and games are on.

    • Jupiter Jubilee -

    • 4th Degree Report -

    • Our SP-7n form is due June 30th.

    • There is an exemplification at St Ignatius this Sunday, there will be another in April at Council 4999.

  • Field Agent Report-

    • The Council should consider a Fraternal Benefits Night before a regular meeting.

  • New Business - .

  • Motions-

    • Brother Davisson moved, and Brother McElhaney seconded the motion that the GK and DGK be delegates to the state convention, Brothers Colin McGivney and McReynolds are alternates. Passed
