We had a great Fraternal year, and last night, (3/17) we got together to celebrate. Knights and Wives attended. The Buffett had a hispanic flavor with great home made dishes and a platter each of pork and chicken tamales home made by Brother Augustin Delgado and his wife! Everything was delicious. Thank You to all brought dishes. Brothers Trevor McDonad and Terry Hood manned the grill. Our Field Agent gave a short introduction to the Financial Services available though the Knights, and Brother Joe McGivney gave a an account of his medical experience that is being reviewed as a possible miracle attributable to the Blessed Father McGivney. Grand Knight Ken Kotansky then recognized Knights that contributed to our various activities throughout the year, and recounted our many achievements. They include: $30,000 in charitable giving, and over 6000 hours of service. We donated to Food for Families, ARC of the Palm Beaches, Els for Autism, the Hispanic Ministry, Special Olympics, Ukraine, seminary support, and our largest donation, the American Wheelchair Misson. We raised our donations through fundraisers at Jupiter Jubilee, Wheelchair Sunday, the 500 Mile Walk for Wheelchairs, spring training games, the JTAA Christmas Parade, and the Sunday Fellowship Breakfasts. Many additional hours of service were spent at the Hannah House for unwed mothers, the Men's Thursday morning study group, as mass ushers and greeters, weekly Food for Family support, Sunday Rosary recital, support of the Young at Heart Ministry, and funeral assistance for our fallen brothers.
The evening was a fun time, and all enjoyed themselves. It was also a great time to reflect on just how much we, as Knights, do to support our church and community.
