Business (General) Meeting

January 19, 2021

Note: Minutes of our Business Meetings are supplied to all members of the council for review and comment. The minutes will not be read at the next regular meeting unless requested by a member. Please direct all corrections and additions to Jim Hildebrand jrpah@comcast.net

Recorders Note: This was a “stay at home’ meeting conducted over ZOOM. Due to the untimely death for our Grand Knight, the meeting was Hosted by Brother McReynolds and Chaired by Brother Davisson. The meeting minutes were taken by Jim Hildebrand. Those in attendance were Brothers: Rev, Wesler, Michael McReynolds, Paul Davisson, Terry Wood, Antonio Lippiello, Patrick McElhaney, Philip Colon, Mike Cesarano, Ken Kotansky, Larry McKay, and Field Agent Jonathan Knaus.

  • Pre - Meeting.

  • Officers Roll Call

    • All Officers were present except for the Chancellor, Recorder, and 3rd Year Trustee. The Grand Knight and Deputy Grand Knight and 1st Year Trustee positions are open.

  • Chaplain Report -

    • The meeting was opened and closed with a prayer.

  • Guests and Dignitaries

    • The Field Agent was present.

  • Grand Knight Report:

    • Correspondence:

      • We received:

        • “Thank You” notes from “Els for Autism”, the “St. Vincent de Paul Society”, and Food for Families for donations made during the past year.

        • a “Thank You” from the Gassman Family for our considerations after the death of Brother Tom Gassman’s father

        • a “Thank You” from Father Jean for past donations to his school. He mentioned that the school is coming along well and they will soon be putting on the roof. Brother Davisson suggested we donate $500 towards the new roof.

    • Report (Brother Davisson):

      • The question came up of who should sign vouchers until a new GK is elected. With the death of the GK, and the DGK position open, the Chancellor is next in the council line of succession. Brother Davisson will check with the DD to be sure Brother Karl is now authorized to sign vouchers.

      • GK Mikosz’s funeral was well attended by Knights. The Mass was offered by Brothers Fr. Wesler and Fr. Jean. Brothers Deacon Scienzo and Deacon Collins served.

      • We should elected a new GK at the next business meeting. All members are asked to consider taking the position.

    • The FA reported that there will be a video seminar next Tuesday on “Avoiding the Retirement Trap Door”. The seminar is about “Long Term Care” Insurance. All catholic gentlemen are invited to attended.
