Business (General) Meeting
February 17, 2021
Note: Minutes of our Business Meetings are supplied to all members of the council for review and comment. The minutes will not be read at the next regular meeting unless requested by a member. Please direct all corrections and additions to Jim Hildebrand jrpah@comcast.net
Recorders Note: This was a “stay at home’ meeting conducted over ZOOM. Due to the untimely death for our Grand Knight, the meeting was Hosted by Brother McReynolds and Chaired by Brother Davisson. The meeting minutes were taken by Jim Hildebrand. Those in attendance were Brothers: Rev, Wesler, Michael McReynolds, Paul Davisson, Terry Wood, Antonio Lippiello, Patrick Mcelhaney, Philip Colon, Mike Cesarano, Ken Kotansky, Larry McKay, Jim Hildebrand, James Camber, Ryan Bielski, Trevor McDonald, John Claudio, and District Deputy Billy VanKuren
Pre - Meeting.
The District Deputy described how the “Tootsie Roll” club operates at St Jude Parish. They are noted for the large contributions they are able to make to Mental Health Charities.
A yearly letter is sent out to a mailing list that has evolved over the years. The letter asks for a $100 donation. In return, the council will send out a receipt for tax purposes if requested.
The donors are listed in the church bulletin after the drive.
The council is allowed two minutes of pulpit time after each mass during the drive (not sure how many weeks)
The council also collect at the parish doors.
Officers Roll Call
All Officers were present except for the Chancellor and Recorder. The Grand Knight, Deputy Grand Knight and 1st Year Trustee positions are open.
Chaplain Report -
The meeting was opened and closed with a prayer.
Father Wesler reminded us that Wednesday is Ash Wednesday. Ashes will be distributed on the top of the head and not marked on the forehead.

A notice for an Exemplification Thursday night. A Disney World trip membership incentive is associated with the exemplification.
A flyer for a food packing event at St Vincent Ferrer Church in Delray Beach on March 20th.
A letter from the District Deputy asking we help to purchase an add for our district in theState Convention Bulletin. (We usually donate $125). See Motions
Report (Brother Davisson):
Brother Bielski has been helping out at Hannah’s House. There is still minor work to be done. One wall is in need of paints. Brother Kotansky volunteered for the job.

Brother Lippiello reported there will be a Lenten Retreat at the Our Lady of Florida Spiritual Center. The retreat is Saturday, February 20th. Cost is $120.

District Deputy Report/ Regional Rep - .
We have a new Supreme Knight. His name is Patrick Kelly
This years State Convention will have the option of in person attendance or ZOOM participation.
Our Council won the District Deputies recruitment incentive for last year. Four watches will be gifted to the Council. One watch has already been given to Brother Manz for his recruitment efforts. We will decide on how to distribute the other watches, including the watch intended for GK Mikosz.

Old Business -
Special Election:
A special election was held to fill the position of Grand Knight. GK Mikosz was tragically killed in an auto accident.
Brother Kotansky was recommended by the Officers Nominating Board. He ran unopposed and was declared GK by acclamation.
There were no candidates for the open DGK or Trustee positions.
New Business -
Motions - Brother Hildebrand moved, and Brother Mcelhaney seconded a motion to contributed $125 for the district add in the State Convention bulletin. Passed
