Officers Meeting

April 14, 2020

Note: Minutes of our meetings are supplied to all members of the council for review and comment. The minutes will not be read at the next meeting unless requested by a member. Pls direct all corrections and additions to Jim Hildebrand jrpah@comcast.net

  • Roll Call - The meeting was conducted virtually using ZOOM. Roll was not taken. Eight officers participated.

  • Chaplain Report: Brother Davisson opened and closed the meeting with a prayer.

  • The Council has subscribed to ZOOM in order be able to conduct virtual meetings. (see motions)

  • The Council made $6151 from our Roger Dean efforts. The council agreed with the Chair’s recommendation that we have a “party” to thank those that worked the effort. (see motions)

  • Charity Challenge - Brother Manz challenged Officers to donate their Government Economic Relief check to charitable causes if they don’t have an immediate need for them. Conducting fund drives for the Food for Families and Saint Vincent dePaul Ministries was also discussed.

  • The Tootsie Roll Drive is on hold due to the Corona Virus.

  • Mothers Day Rosary -Brother Manz will discuss with Father Don the possibility of conduction a virtual Mothers Day Rosary.

  • Buffet Breakfast - The Breakfast in on hold due the Corona Virus.

  • Elections -

  • Brother Ceaserano will prepare the list of “recommended officers” for the Council. Brother Manz has indicated that he will not run for Deputy Grand Knight next year. Recorder Brother Hildebrand indicated he will not run for an office next year. Brother Manz will look into software that will let us conduct the election virtually if need be. Financial Secretary Brother Davisson espresso that he has been in his position for 6 years and would like to see some “younger blood” take the job. FS is an appointed position and is not part of the upcoming election.

  • The Silver Rose Icon, a KofC Icon that is transported around the country by bike and commemorates Our Lady of Guadalupe, will be in our area between July 24th and the 29th. It may be of particular interest to our Hispanic community. Brother Sodan will discuss it with Father Don.

  • Two men are being Ordained in May. Letters of encouragement and donations would be appreciated. Brother Sodan will get more info.

  • Old Business -

  • New Business -

  • Brother Manz suggested we could support food for families by picking up food at parishioners houses a couple of time a week. The activity could be done following social distancing guidelines. Brothers Bielski and Manz are willing to make the pick-ups. The Officers agreed that the idea was worth pursuing. Brother Manz will talk with Fr Don.

  • Brother McReynolds suggested that we should perform some sort of recognition when the Garden Brick in laid for Brother Primozic in recognition for his long years of service to the Council.

  • MOTIONS:

  • Brother Davisson moved and Brother Manz seconded a motion to subscribe to Zoom for $14.99 per month. Passed

  • Brother Reynolds moved, and Brother McElhaney seconded a motion to appropriate $350 to fund a Party for those who helped out at Roger Dean Stadium. Passed.
