This couple met at the University of Florida, even though they had lived within a few miles of each other while growing up in New Jersey. They were married after graduation at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Croton Falls, NY, near her family home.
After initially settling in Ft. Lauderdale they moved with what they describe as their three “perfect” children Erin Rose, Katie, and Brian Jr. to Jupiter in 1992. They joined the St. Peter family when Mass was still celebrated in what is now the parish hall.
He began ushering almost immediately, and has been ever since. She had been raised Episcopalian and enrolled in RCIA classes; which the couple attended through her conversion.
The couple and their three children attended 8 o'clock Mass every Sunday. She has decorated the altar every Easter and Christmas since 1994. As the children grew older, they helped with the holiday decorating and helped in various ministries. Erin sang solos at Christmas Masses, Katie played flute, and Brian Jr. helped out as an occasional usher. Both girls returned home and were married at St. Peter by Father Don; with Father Chuck Nobartolo, former pastor, assisting at Erin's wedding.
The couple were on the fundraising committee to finance the new church.
As a landscape architect she was part of the design team for both the church and the school. She designed and executed our beautiful Meditation Garden and Mary's Grotto that has gained notoriety even beyond the diocese. Every Saturday you can see her there with a crew weeding, trimming and planting. (volunteers are always welcome.) Editor's Note: Perhaps if he joins the Knights of Columbus, she may get more volunteers on Saturdays!
While the children have all grown and moved away, you will still see Brian in his usher uniform and Emily at the Welcome Kiosk every Sunday at the 8 o'clock Mass. Sometimes with two of their “perfect” grandchildren, who live nearby.
