Business (General) Meeting
February 18, 2020

Pre - Meeting.
Officers Roll Call
All Officers were present except for the Chaplain, and Inside Guard who were excused, and the 1st Year Trustee who was absent.
Chaplain Report -
The meeting was opened and closed with a prayer

The Field Agent, and Regional Representative and District Deputy were present.

The Assembly’s St Patricks Day Dinner Dance is March 14th. Tickets are sold out. However, Knights that would like to work the event will receive a free meal.
The Council is planning to have a Fraternal Benefits Night at 7 PM on 3/31 in the Parish Hall. All are invited, not just prospective members, to learn more about Knight membership benefits.
We have lost several of our regular sources of income. Working the Concession Stands at Roger Dean will probably be our main source of income for the year.
Our Audit and Annual Survey of Fraternal Activities have been submitted to supreme.
We are looking for volunteers for the new Degree Team. Our first exemplification is 4/7.
Officers Meeting Report
The following 2/11 Officer Meeting actions were reported to the Council:
We increased the amount donated to Fr Jean’s School to $500. (Early passed motion was for $400)
We purchased two tables at the Assembly’s St. Patricks Day Dance
We funded two $200 scholarships for the Altar Servers Scholarship Program.

Deputy Grand Knight and Director Reports:

There will be a “Family Prayer Night” on April 16th in the Parish Hall. The service will recognize siblings.
The “Parish “Giving Tree” is managed by the Matarese Family. They are looking for someone to take over the activity. The DGK would like the Council to consider taking it. We will ask someone involved in the event to give more details of wait is involved to the Council.
Faith*:
Buffet Breakfast - Next Breakfast is on March 1st. It will have a St Patrick’s Day theme.
Feast of the Annunciation -Supreme suggested that we work with the Parish to incorporate a “Life” theme into the 3/25 Mass that celebrates the Feast. Fr Wesler will conduct the 5:30 PM Mass, Knights are asked to sit together, then there will be a procession to the Meditation Garden to recite a prayer from a prayer card that we will distribute.

Tootsie Roll Drive - Dates for the drive are 3/28&29 at the Farms Publix and Walmart. A sigh-up sheet with one hour time slots is being circulated by Brother Manz.
JTAA Christmas Parade -
Free Throw Competition- Seven of our shooters won in the Regional Competition at St. Lukes in Palm Spring. The State competition is 3/4 in Melbourne.

BBQ- We netted approximately $400 from the event. There were several conflicts with other Parish activities that may have hurt this years attendance.
4th Degree Report -
Presentation of the proceeds from the St Patricks Day Party to Honor Flights will be on April 28th.
There will be a 4th Degree Exemplification in Bradenton on 3/28.
District Deputy Report/ Regional Rep -
We need four additional members to reach this years goal of making STAR Council.
Field Agent Report -
Knights are reminded that there are Scholastic Scholarships available from the Knights. Information is on Supreme’s Website.

Motions - Brother Manz moved, and Brother McElhaney second a motion for the Council to take over responsibility for the Giving Tree. The motion was deferred until more information on what is involved with the event is presented.
