Business (General) Meeting

January 21, 2020

Note: Minutes of our Business Meetings are supplied to all members of the council for review and comment. The minutes will not be read at the next regular meeting unless requested by a member. Please direct all corrections and additions to Jim Hildebrand jrpah@comcast.net

  • Pre - Meeting.

  • Officers Roll Call

  • All Officers were present except for the Chaplain, and Chancellor who were excused, and the 1st and 2nd Year Trustees who were absent.

  • Chaplain Report -

  • The meeting was opened and closed with a prayer

  • Guests and Dignitaries

  • The Field Agent, and Regional Representative were present.

  • Grand Knight Report:

  • Report:

  • The KofC State Raffle is underway. Members are asked to help sell tickets. There are $45K in prizes plus the council retains $6 of every $12 collected.

  • The Parish Stewardship Director refunded $411 to the council. The refund will be donated to Father Jean to support his school in Haiti. (see motions)

  • Our “Miracle House” Baby Bottle drive collected $8137. We did, however, have a large number of bottles that were not returned.

  • The next Honor Flight dates are April 11, and May 30.

  • The State convention is May 22-24 in Orlando. We will have to elect representatives for the convention.

  • The first full week in February is our “Family Week”. It starts with the Buffet Breakfast on 2/2, followed by a Prayer Service on 2/6, and concludes with the BBQ on 2/8.

  • Hurricanes Bar and Grill is closed. We are looking for a new venue for our after meeting socials.

  • The “Rosary for Life” is 1/22 at 7PM in the Meditation Garden.

  • The will be a “Patriotic Rosary” on 2/17 in support of Presidents.

  • Buffet Breakfast - Next Breakfast is on Feb. 2nd.

  • Ministry Appreciation -Ministry Appreciation night is 1/25. We have been asked to supply and serve Beer, Wine and Distilled spirits.

  • Tootsie Roll Drive - Tentative dates for the drive are 2/22&23 from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM at the Farms Publix and Walmart.

  • JTAA Christmas Parade -

  • Free Throw Competition-1/22 10:00 AM at All Saints School.

  • Good of the Order:

  • An informative video on the Passionist Order was shown

  • Recruiting/Retention - Lou Manz

  • “Delta Drive” -

  • Exemplifications

  • A Third Degree is being planned for Feb. at Council 4999.

  • Standing Committees

  • Fund Raising -

  • Roger Dean Stadium -. We plan to work Roger Dean Stadium again this year. Tentative dates are 2/25,29, and 3/3,4,5,7,10 &15. This year volunteers are required to take a 3 Hr on line course on the sale of Alcohol.

  • Jupiter Jubilee - Saturday Feb 1 at Abacoa Community Park. We will being selling beer and wine.

  • BBQ- February 8th. We will need people at 2 PM to set up the Hall and prepare food. We will also need people a little before 5PM to help serve. We plan to have 2 serving lines so we will need more servers than in past years;

  • 4th Degree Report -

  • District Deputy Report/ Regional Rep -

  • The Emergency Preparedness Program has been established. People with special skills are asked to register if they would like to help out in an emergency. The state is considering sending a team to assist in the Bahamas.

  • Field Agent Report -

  • KofC Insurance has once again obtained an A+ rating.

  • Motions - Brother Davisson moved, and Brother Manz seconded a motion to contribute $400 to Father Jean for his school in Haiti. Passed.
