Bill, Tina, Linette, & Karl Sodan Family named Family of the Month for December

The patriarch of this family has been a member of the Council for nine years. During that time, he has completely immersed himself in the Order. First, he became the Grand Knight of Council 13139. Since then, he has become the District Deputy for District 66, and most recently, accepted the role of Color Corps Commander for the John Paul II Assembly 3299. His son, Karl, is the Inside Guard for Council 13139 and the Faithful Scribe for the same Assembly. Both Bill and Karl are members of the Formation Degree Team.

Participation in the Knights of Columbus and the parish is a family affair. Bill’s wife Tina and their daughter, Linette, assist at the Monthly Family Fellowship Breakfast. At the December breakfast, Tina dressed as Mrs. Claus and Bill came as one of Santa’s helpers. Tina is always cooking something up for a Council or Assembly event. For the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, she handcrafted 300 thread Rosary Beads in the colors of Our Lady of Guadalupe for distribution to the Hispanic community after the Mass on Our Lady’s feast day. As Color Corps Commander, he coordinated the corps’ activities for the feast day with the St. Peter Parish staff.

Bill has recently retired from G4S, but keeps busy with the Knights of Columbus. Tina has any number of hobbies, including canning, sewing, crafts, and a recently acquired embroidery machine where she crafted the shirts for the Council’s Annual Family Fellowship Bar-B-Que.

Bill and Tina have seven children: Karl and Linette, who live locally; Billy in Orwell, OH; Myrna in Rochester, IL; Russell in Harrisburg, AR; Anneliese in Union Grove, AL; and Leo in Huntsville, AL. They have 15 Grandchildren.

For their significant contributions to the Knights of Columbus, the Council recognizes the Bill, Tina, Linette, and Karl Sodan Family.
